World @ Jones Beach: A Mosaic of Summer
Jones Beach Rescue’s photo contest to capture a full,
end-to-end “Day in the Life” at our favorite beach
Attention Jones Beach fans! This is your chance to show what you love about Jones Beach – the world-renowned public park that is a seaside treasure right here on Long Island.
Inspired by our Friday Flicker Favorites and the theme of our first fundraising project – the restoration of the Central Mall Mosaics – Jones Beach Rescue wants to document Summer 2011 at Jones Beach through a metaphorical mosaic of photos submitted by the people who know, love, and use it the best.
There are many things that make Jones Beach great and we want to see what stands out most for you. Is it the spectacular sand and surf; life on the famous boardwalk; games on the playing courts; or the wildlife on the trails? We’re looking for photos that describe the spirit of Jones Beach: what makes it special and beautiful and fun from sunrise to beyond sunset.
So get out your camera and start snapping. Capture the world at Jones Beach through your eyes and submit your favorite summer of 2011 moment to Jones Beach Rescue by Monday, September 5, 2011 Monday, September 12, 2011.
Winners will have their photo highlighted on Jones Beach Rescue’s website and other social media platforms, and will also be honored at an End of Summer Party & Fundraiser on Sunday, September 25th, 2011.
Contest Rules & Photo Requirements:
• Contest is open to individuals eighteen (18) years old and up
• Photos must be taken by person making the submission
• Only 3 photos may be submitted per person
• Photos must be taken at Jones Beach during the summer of 2011
• Upon submission, you give JBR permission to use your photos for promotional purposes
• Size digital photos at 300 dpi and 1,500 pixels on the longer side
• Photo files must be between 1 & 5 megabytes (1,000kb-5,000kb)
• Accepted file types: .jpg, .gif, or .png
• High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable
• Photomontages or collages will not be accepted
• Post processing to be limited to cropping and black/white conversion
• Photographs may not have previously won an award in a photo contest
• The photo must not contain brand names or trademarks
• Personal info provided to JBR will never be disclosed to third parties
• The photo must not contain material that violates another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement
• All participants must register for the competition by completing and submitting the official online entry form below by Monday, September 5, 2011 Monday, September 12, 2011
